The Karaite synagogue is considered the oldest surviving synagogue in the Jewish
Quarter. The Karaites attribute the foundation of the synagogue to Anan Ben David,
the founder of the sect.

Entrance to the synagogue itself is not permitted, but visits to the museum, which
has a window through which the synagogue can be viewed, can be coordinated in advance
