Visiting Hours
Western Wall Praying Plaza:
The Western Wall is open to visitors 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Appropriate, modest dress should be worn throughout the Western Wall Plaza.

On the Sabbath and Jewish holidays smoking, photography, or use of cellular phones in the Western Wall Plaza is forbidden.

No animals are allowed in the Western Wall Plaza. Please follow the directions of security personnel at entrances to the Western Wall Plaza.

The Western Wall Tunnels:
Tours of the tunnels are taken only with guides and must be scheduled in advance.

Tours are available for individuals and groups in Hebrew and English. Each tour lasts about an hour and a quarter.

The tour is suitable for the general public, for groups of up to 30 participants.

The Western Wall Tunnels are open to visitors Sunday through Thursday, from 07:00 - 23:00 (depending on scheduled visits).

On Fridays and the eve of holidays, the site is open from 07:00 am to 12:00pm.

The site is closed on the Sabbath and Jewish holidays, the eve of Yom Kippur, Independence Day, and Tisha Be'Av.

On the intermediate days of Passover and Succoth (Tabernacles), the Western Wall Tunnels will be open from 10 am to 10 pm.

During the holidays, no advance bookings are necessary and entrance is free. On these days, tours are condensed and are in Hebrew only. 

The Generations Center:
Sunday through Thursday, from 08:00 20:00.
On Fridays and the eve of holidays, the site is open from 08:00 am to 12:00pm.
Handicapped Access
Wheelchair Access: The tour is suitable for wheelchair users, for up to 7 participants in a group.

Tours for the blind: A unique tour for the blind through the Western Wall Tunnels incorporates special illustration aids, personal models, Braille maps and more.

Tours for sight impaired visitors: Tours incorporate special high- luminosity halogen lamps

Tours for hearing impaired visitors: Tours incorporate enhanced visual effects and optional sign-language guides

How to reach the site

Public transport to the Western Wall: Bus lines 1, 2, 38 and Sherut taxis.

Use of private transport is not advised due to the scarcity of parking facilities.
